The wood, stain, width, and finish options with prefinished flooring are virtually limitless. We commonly work with 2.25'“, 3.25”, and 5” wide stock—pictured here is 5” silver oak from Hartco Flooring. There are hundreds of tasteful stains and styles at your fingertips.

(Bonus: once it’s installed, you’re good to go—no sanding!)

Patching & Repair

Blending new and old hardwood requires careful attention to detail. Our goal is to provide seamless transitions that transform eye sores into eye candy.

Sanding & Refinishing

Sanding

Our German engineered drum sanders are incredibly efficient at handling any condition a new or old floor can present, with excellent dust containment systems for easy disposal. Our expertise in floor sanding all comes down to operating these heavy-duty machines with a feather-touch.

Our edgers connect to vacuums outfitted with HEPA filters, and they take care of the room’s perimeter. What’s left in the corners will be hand-scraped.

Staining

Progress: White oak, with Minwax Provincial stain, after one coat of polyurethane

There’s no better way to elegantly transform your hardwood floors than to stain them, and it’s an art that we take seriously. We can color match for seamless blending, or help develop a custom shade unique to you. Our sanding method creates a smooth and even canvas, and our tried and true rag application ensures a handcrafted color distributed evenly throughout each square foot of hardwood. Upgrade your floors and make them the new focal point of your home.

Refinishing

The quarter sawn floor in this rental unit had its original varnish from the 1930’s and had likely never been sanded. What a difference!

What a difference!

Arguably the most important aspect of preserving any hardwood floor, we offer both oil and water-based finishes, each with their merits.

  • Oil-based polyurethane (pictured left) is the most traditional and widely used, perfectly suited for high-traffic areas.

  • Water-based finishes have become popular as a more environmental choice, and they are known for having a quicker drying time and an almost nonexistent odor.

  • We apply three coats of finish, generally over the course of three days, for excellent protection and a proper amount of time to dry between coats.
