Our Story
Ray’s Wood Floors started in 1975 out of a blue Dodge work van in Salem, Massachusetts. Ray’s craftsmanship and dedication quickly became a staple of the North Shore community, and laid the foundation for generations of repeat local customers. For 20 years, he worked side by side his youngest son, Josh, who now has the honor of carrying on the business in memory of his father.
Josh specializes in installation, refinishing, staining, and repair with over two decades of hands on experience in the trade. Whether it’s new construction or historical restoration, Ray’s Wood Floors is the artisan you need.
Meet the Owner:
Josh Richard graduated Magna Cum Laude from Wheaton College in 2009 with a B.A. in Philosophy. Throughout high school, college, and post-grad he apprenticed under his father, all while avidly pursuing golf, music performance (he’s a multi-instrumentalist), and furniture refinishing. He and his wife currently live in Nahant with two Australian shepherds (Yoko & Gibson), a Norwegian Forest cat (Linda McCatney), and their first baby is on the way.
